hey ~teammates,
if you're new to the team and haven't heard about the freebsd server that we maintain for ~team users.
it's somewhat barebones, but has web- and mailservers that are up and running, ready to serve php and static files from ~/public_html.
this is the process that i use to migrate user accounts: https://gist.github.com/benharri/2a515dbde2dfdf3294dffe7b1be56e67
~/.ssh/authorized_keys is copied over from tilde.team proper, meaning you can ssh to bsd.tilde.team with the same keys that you use here.
there's also an inspircd node running there for the tilde.chat network, so you can connect to localhost/6667 there as well.
i plan on using this list as a place to post updates and other info. holler here if you need anything or have any package requests etc.

p.s. for users in australia in particular (my experience only, may be different for you), bsd.tilde.team is the fastest ping on all the tildes i have tried.
hey all,
i've upgraded from freebsd 11.2 to 12.0 RELEASE and restarted to get the latest kernel updates.
let me know if anything is amiss and i'll see if i can figure out what's up.

Just got an update from prgmr.com, the host I use for bsd.tilde.team. There will be a planned outage for up to 4 hours on Jan21:
Excerpt from prgmr.com staff:
We will be moving tilde.xen.prgmr.com to a new data center. At this data center we are pleased to report we will have additional network and power redundancy. Overall network latency should be near identical once we have vacated the old data center, which will happen within the next few weeks. We have allocated up to four hours after 2019-01-21 07:00:00 UTC for downtime, though we expect it to take less time than this.
Just wanted to get an update out so we know what's up on this date. I'll post an additional update on irc the day of.
This is coming up in an hour. If you get kicked off, this is why.
Also, does this mean that my byobu instance will have to be reconfigured *again*? Thanks in advance

another quick update:
i installed gophernicus here on bsd.tilde.team last night so you can have another gopherhole.
if you want to be listed on the homepage (gopher://bsd.tilde.team), create a ~/public_gopher dir.
