Hello tildeverse peoples,
Over the last two weeks I've been developing a homegrown
twtxt registry server. I'm happy to announce that it's now
running publicly:
https://twtxt.tilde.institute
Instructions are available on the main page of the registry,
including how to add your own data to the registry using curl.
If you're not familiar with twtxt, it's a decentralized
microblogging platform "for hackers". You can install the client
via pip (pip install twtxt), and then after setting it up, issue:
$ twtxt follow institute https://twtxt.tilde.institute/api/plain/tweets
To add the registry data to your personal 'timeline'. Don't forget
to add your own info to the registry to help it grow! Your statuses
will be periodically scraped and viewable from the registry server.
This allows many users' statuses to be available from a single
location.
Note: the twtxt client may complain when 'following' the registry.
It's OK, it'll still work.

Since that phlog post the other day provoked some discussion in the tildeverse
irc, and since jan6 created the channel as a meme, #furry is the place for
discussing furry stuff now (so it won't bug anyone in #meta).
Feel free to check it out if you like!
Hello everyone,
Apologies for the hiccups with the crawl server this evening if you
were trying to play a game. I migrated the home directory to a
larger volume after monitoring the disk space usage for a while.
Everything should be working OK now.

Hello everyone,
The DCSS server has been updated, allowing you to
begin playing the latest version of your favorite
roguelike. Version 0.23 was officially released a
few days ago.
Enjoy!

Hello people of meta,
I've mentioned here and there in the IRC that I was thinking about starting up
my own tilde server, and I'm now making arrangements to get started with that
project. While I'm doing all of that, I made a survey for those who are
interested to fill out. This will help me see if anyone here is intereted in
joining the server / what kind of server would best suite the user base:

Feel free to ask me any questions about the tilde server here or on the
tilde.chat IRC channel #center.

Hello Everyone,
I've finished setting up a Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup
server for the tildeverse. The main page is available at:
https://crawl.tildeverse.org
Available play options include traditional console
access via SSH for the hardcore roguelike players, or
webtiles available via the site for those who prefer a
more modern-looking game. SSH instructions and the dcss
user key are provided on the site.
Games are recorded using ttyrec and are available
for download via the site. Just play them back using
ttyplay! The trunk version of the game is updated nightly
and I will update the releases manually as they come out.
Currently, the stable version of the game is 0.22.
A tutorial mode is available for those new to the
game, and a sprint mode is available for those who are
experienced with the game and want to try something much
more difficult.
Have fun!

I originally asked this in the tildeteam@ list, however
it would be more appropriate to ask here in meta@. What
would you like to see in the tildeverse? What developments,
what services, etc? Surely some of you have ideas
for things to do in the tildeverse that haven't been
implemented yet. Let's hear it!
