Hi, Puttygen makes pairs of keys, but tilde does not accept it. Anyone uses it?
I do. Using Windows 7 and putty, here. Have done so, for a long time now.
We are talking about ssh to : tilde.team correct? ( 198.50.210.248 ) I can log into the shell, using putty and a key pair. Just tried it. Works fine.
This: "...but tilde does not accept it. ... " sort of rang a bell. So I went and tested something that came to mind.
I still have Putty version 0.60 handy. So I tried it. Fails. Server rejects the login attempt with some error message. Next, I tried Putty version 0.73 . Fails. Different error message, but is rejected by the server and fails, nevertheless.
Above, when I said that I can log into the shell using Putty and keys, with no problem, that was when using Putty 0.77 .
So - I'm wondering if you by chance might be using an old version of Putty ?
I hope this helps. Luck on you! 😄
