That year it snowed 3’ in Chicago and shut down the entire city for a week? Yeah, that was my 29th birthday.
I interviewed at a job all day and, on my way home, found a text from my partner that the place we were gonna go was shut down because blizzard. So we decided to go to our corner pub instead. I got what ended up being the last Blue Line train outbound, got to the pub, and… got snowed in. Then the staff found out it was my birthday, and kept serving me 60-year-old whiskey for free while they dug out the place.
On our way home, severely drunk of course, I got tackled from behind with someone in a viking costume and was promptly whitewashed, not knowing that a neighborhood-wide snowball fight was hastily scheduled at the park that I was trying to walk through.
We woke up the next day snowed into our home, and just ate crock pot food for a couple of days while the city dug itself out.

My niece -- probably 6-8 at the time -- was in town visiting my parents. She happened to be interested in astronomy at the time. In trying to keep her entertained, they promised to take her to the planetarium... but the only day they had a show (and evening outing with telescopes) coincided with my birthday.
We all went to the show, then went out to check out the stars and planets. She was a little shy, so I took her (and held her up) to the telescope. We saw the Moon up close, Mars and Jupiter.
Then it was off to a nearby ice cream shop for sundaes.
I honestly can't remember exactly which birthday it was -- past the milestones to care much anymore anyway -- but this was the first to come to mind. I'm glad it did. :)

On my 16th birthday I was thrown a surprise party. I had only been expecting two friends to come over and hang out, but my mom drove me to pick up one of them and when we got back literally every one of my friends at the time was there along with a huge spread of yummy food. We had a lovely time and played around in the back yard and formed a cuddle pile while watching Ghibli movies later in the evening. My last wasn't nearly as extravagant, with only a couple close friends, but it was also really nice and one of the friends there was one who I don't get to see often, which was wonderful.
