hey ~clubbers,
I've just set up a tool called `tilde` that can be used to submit, find, and run user-submitted scripts. I originally created it for tilde.team at some point last year.
To get started, run `tilde` at your shell. To qualify for submission, a script must be:
- executable with a proper shebang
- in your ~/bin dir (make it if it doesn't exist)
- responds to a help or --help subcommand
- have a unique name (not a system tool or subcommand)
Feel free to ask here or on irc if you have any questions about submitting or using other users' scripts!
Oh fun, I just put office.pl in there. And then updated my own info because it still had me in Wichita (which, I guess if I waited long enough, will probably be right again) and on Twitter.
It sorta responds to help in that if you put literally anything on the command line after it it will tell you what it is is and how to set your own info (`chfn` if you don't want to check).
Apparently some of us put our state (or country, or whatever other qualifier we felt like) in the phone # field because you can't put a comma in the location field. (Maybe you can if you escape it, I didn't think to try.) I went ahead and did that again.
