The same to you! Nothing like cozying up next to the fireplace with a
terminal and a cup of tea.
Any chance to cozy up to a terminal is a good day! :)
I've been admittedly absent for much of the past few weeks, and it was
only on a whim that I logged in today to see your message. Responding
to a call like this isn't something I normally do, but I'm interested
in helping this little corner of the Internet survive in any little
ways that I can. I encourage anyone who may feel similarly to me
(read: more inclined to read and consume than to write and produce) to
break your mold and hit reply. (Or type something in the IRC box, or
make a thing for your page, or whatever suits you.).
To your question:
1. I think it would be nice to have weekly or even biweekly email
threads, perhaps with prompts or topics. Stuff like "what are you
working on right now?" or "what's the dumbest mistake you've ever made
on a hacking project?" would interest me, but any sort of prompt would
be alright.
Great idea. Really any topic suggestion would be great to keep the
mailing list interesting to some degree.
2. Perhaps there should be designated times for meeting up on IRC?
Maybe this already exists and I've just been absent, but it would be
nice to know when more people might be on. I've pinged the channel a
few times in the past and not gotten much of a response despite there
being several people in the channel.
Yeah it really seems to vary with when its busy. Most general chat
seems to happen in #meta. Saturday and Sunday seems like fairly quiet
times... weekdays generally are more busy.
I will put some thought in maybe making time suggestions that we can
post somewhere.
3. If possible, it would be cool if we could somehow encourage ~club
members to update their pages. Maybe someone could put out weekly
ideas for webpages in an email thread? I see a lot of tildes lamenting
their lack of ideas.
Me and benharri have been talking about this issue. Been passing ideas
like a webpage competition or something of that nature with maybe
possibilities of things to win. But nothing is official as of yet, any
more ideas on this front would be greatly appreciated.
Rather than just come up with ideas and run away, I'll say that I'm
willing to take responsibility for all or part of (1) or (3), if
people would like. If not, that's also fine.
Any help is appreciated. We really enjoy seeing engagement with any
services.
Let's keep this thing going, ~club.

On that note I would like to find out what the community would like
to see tilde.club become.
