Once more unto the breach, thanks to the author of these docs I found on Twitter. (Tilde is still the only reason I've ever had to use ssh – or Terminal, really.)

Upon entry, I was greeted – as you may have been – by an affirmation: "There is NO GUILT here. NOR SHAME. Not knowing things is fine. Not finishing them is fine too. Be a disaster! Make a disaster!" Ah! With that in mind, I should also mention that I was greeted just before that by a warning: I had p e r m a n e n t l y added something tilde-related to a list of known hosts. Disaster strikes! Maybe? I don't know! Beep boop.

Here's my thread, should you like to pull on it: Five years ago, I was mourning the loss of a few short-lived but well-loved sites I helped create: Branch and Potluck, both of which (on their best days) evoked a similar cozy-throwbackiness. Flash forward: This year, I started a business to help people take care of their parents. Swerve!

Hi, my name's Adam Rice. You might know me from such weblogs as randomWalks.com, and you might not know me at all. My first web browser was lynx. I've known for many years that our family name was originally Rys in Poland but I only learned this year that "rys" is Polish for lynx.

I live in Philadelphia where for food I support individuals and small businesses who use Apple stuff as askadam.io.

Something fun I did in 1994 and then again recently that I'm pretty proud of is write some code to generate an imitation of Allen Ginsberg's Howl. The recent one is here: https://twitter.com/carlomarxbot

(In response, someone almost immediately built a bot which makes one amazing but dumb joke again and again and after more than two years I have a good guess who it was, but no one has owned up -- so if you have any idea who made https://twitter.com/engelBot I'd love to know?)

On September 30 2014, I wrote to Paul:
Thanks, this is really very amazing & inspiring

and he replied:
   i mean
it is one unix server with zero configuration and no extra software

and I realize now that what he meant is that it is all of us who are really very amazing & inspiring, so thank you.
