I’m confused how to reply to the mailing list without hitting reply all. If I don’t reply all it only replies to the sender not the mailing list. So maybe I’m special tonight.

Varies by client. Fastmail's web client offers me "Reply to sender" and "reply to list" (there's no reply-all which amuses me terribly).
