I saw a load of emails flowing in this weekend and groaned (sad that that's the default response), but then I started reading the messages and was happy to get a little wave of nostalgia for the internet before it got so stupid.I'm /~laze and my tildeclub site is a dedication to my first page on the web back in December of 1994, which had a picture of Grover sitting on a toilet. Classy.Like many of you, I've been feeling burned out and negative about the 'net over the last few years and feel like it's veered so far off course that we won't be able to get it back. But little projects like this and the gradual rise in the return to smaller online social groups gives me a little hope that all the good things about being online still have a shot.... Wow, it has been done since I cared about or didn’t mark a large email list as SPAM. A lot of names from lives, projects, conferences, and digital proxies for such that bring back great memories. Now to get to WiFi and reorient a device new to ~tilde.
All the best,
Thomas
